The IIN operates programs that engage and function across all 15 hubs. These include large-scale funding opportunities, initiatives designed to serve the entire state, and the IIN’s seed grant programs.

  • ABELINC Certificate Celebration for the Northeastern Illinois University Computer Literacy Summer Program.

    ABE-LINC

    The Chicago State University (CSU) "Advancing Broadband Equity through Learning Intermediaries in the Neighborhoods of Chicago" (ABELINC) project, together with subrecipients Northeastern Illinois University (NEIU) and University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), will implement a guided program to address the internet adoption, broadband access, and the teaching of basic computer skills in Chicago neighborhoods.

    The IIN coordinated an 8-hub project to determine the jobs and training curricula needed for Illinois' clean energy transition, and plan, develop and launch workforce development programs.

    The IIN Innovation Awards honor researchers from across the state.
  • Illinois Broadband Lab Logo

    Illinois Broadband Lab

    A collaboration on broadband data, mapping, research, and publication driven by the Illinois Office of Broadband, the IIN, and the University of Illinois System.
  • Members of KIMLAB (Kinetic Intelligent Machine LAB) work on task/ data-driven robot design, motion control, and interaction. The group presented reconfigurable robots that can accomplish all kinds of tasks during a Grainger College of Engineering Open House event in the  Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).

    An initiative designed to find new uses for soy by identifying and supporting early-stage innovations in soy-based, non-food applications.

  • NSF Regional Innovation Engines Program

    Advancing Smart Logistics

    Governors State received an NSF Development Award to lead an IIN project for the Regional Innovation Engines program based around the concept of reimagining the supply chain for the 21st century.
