About the hub
The university will create a new data science center on the site of the current Illini Hall to expand its capabilities in data science, statistics, and machine learning. It also will construct a biomedical translational facility to bring together under one roof researchers, students and industry partners as they work to create new medical breakthroughs and devices.
The National Center for Supercomputing Applications and Siebel Center for Computer Science will be expanded to increase the university’s capacity for research and education in computer science. And the university’s research park also will grow to accommodate the demand for its research and corporate development programs.
