The Peoria Innovation Hub will be dedicated to finding solutions to improve the wellness of underserved populations and advance systems related to food, farming, and transportation – specifically autonomous mobility. The Peoria Innovation Hub will offer students, researchers, academics and entrepreneurs a full suite of resources, including a physical prototyping lab; digital makerspace; data informatics lab; co-working facilities; small offices for new businesses; classroom and conference space; and a rooftop garden and commercial kitchen.

Students from the University of Illinois, UICOMP, Bradley and ICC will be involved in rural health initiatives or entrepreneurial ventures, and the Hub will actively engage students in all the programming and various projects of the Hub. ICC and Bradley have expressed interest in incorporating IIN objectives and projects into their curriculum, and there is strong interest among corporate partners in tapping into student pools to advance R&D aims.

PIH will acquire and renovate the former ICC-owned Thomas Building to create an innovation center within the Downtown Peoria Opportunity Zone.
