About the hub
Illinois State University is establishing a dynamic hub dedicated to advancing social, environmental, and economic sustainability. This initiative aims to meet the current needs of our community while proactively planning for its future. Our goals include ensuring long-term financial stability and economic growth, safeguarding natural resources, and fostering a resilient, thriving environment for generations to come.
Rooted in research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic development, the hub will leverage the strengths of Bloomington-Normal institutions to become a central driver of inclusive regional growth. A key component of this initiative is the creation of a business incubator—the first large-scale, coordinated effort in McLean County to cultivate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. This incubator will support innovators at every stage of their journey, laying the foundation for sustained economic vitality and a more vibrant, forward-thinking community.
